Looking back at 2024, Amazon not only launched the Amazon Lens search feature, which allows consumers to further refine product searches based on images by using text, but also introduced a visual suggestion tool that guides users through an interactive process to narrow down their search. Previously, Amazon had already deployed the Lens Live feature in its mobile application, enabling users to scan real-time video to directly identify and match similar products, significantly simplifying the shopping process.

In this latest round of technological deployment, Amazon has further expanded the application scenarios of "AI + shopping." The most notable addition is the new AI image generator, as well as the newly launched "Shop by Style" tool. The latter can not only generate AI collages with specific aesthetics that are directly purchasable but also categorize products by style for display, transforming what was once a dull search process into a more inspiring and interactive visual experience.

Beyond innovations in the visual aspect, Amazon has also iterated the underlying logic of shopping interactions. Starting last month, Amazon has fully integrated the Alexa for Shopping shopping assistant into the search bar and chat window of its shopping app. Users can simply input questions through natural language and receive direct answers, significantly improving the convenience of shopping with this conversational interaction model.

This series of initiatives demonstrates that Amazon is attempting to comprehensively integrate artificial intelligence into every stage of the shopping process, from product discovery to decision-making. By deeply integrating visual AI with conversational AI, Amazon is trying to restructure the traditional e-commerce shopping logic, making search no longer just a simple keyword matching process, but a more user-oriented intelligent guide.
