On June 5, Amazon held the "Future of Delivery" event at its Dartford distribution center, east of London, UK, officially launching an AI-powered upgraded version of the Proteus warehouse robot. This new device, capable of responding to conversational commands, is a key part of Amazon's 10 billion euro investment plan for its European delivery network.

Compared to the previous version of Proteus, which is currently operating at 25 sites in the United States, the new generation of robots has undergone a complete transformation. The previous version could only operate in the dock areas of warehouses, responsible for moving carts weighing nearly 400 kilograms. The upgraded model has broken through these spatial restrictions, allowing it to move freely throughout the entire warehouse. In terms of interaction, employees no longer need complex programming or instructions; they can simply give tasks through natural language "conversations," and the robot will autonomously plan its route and efficiently complete the work.

According to the plan, this new generation of Proteus robots with higher autonomy is expected to be deployed in major warehouse centers across Europe in the first half of 2027, further accelerating Amazon's logistics automation process in the European market.
