In the journey of deep integration between artificial intelligence and medical imaging, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has long been regarded as a formidable challenge due to its complexity. Recently, the Beijing AI Research Institute, in collaboration with Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical University, jointly launched the first multi-modal diagnostic intelligent agent for cardiac magnetic resonance in the industry - BAAI Cardiac Agent.

This innovative achievement marks the official entry of cardiac magnetic resonance image processing into the "full-process automation" era. The intelligent agent adopts an advanced Agent-Expert architecture, dynamically coordinating multiple specialized "expert" sub-models to successfully build a closed-loop medical system. It not only accurately completes the segmentation and analysis of cardiac structures, but also performs functional quantitative assessment and ultimately achieves disease diagnosis classification.

Traditional cardiac magnetic resonance examinations often rely on experienced doctors for tedious post-processing manual analysis, while the BAAI Cardiac Agent can achieve end-to-end automated operation. From image input to the final output of standardized reports that meet clinical standards, the entire process requires minimal human intervention, greatly improving the efficiency and standardization level of clinical diagnosis.

This mode of collaborative work based on intelligent agents provides new ideas for solving complex medical image diagnosis. By integrating the capabilities of models from different fields, the BAAI Cardiac Agent demonstrates the great potential of AI in assisting clinical decision-making, and is expected to help medical institutions alleviate diagnostic pressure and improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment in the future.
