According to tech media 9to5Google, Google is developing a new AI subscription service codenamed "Neon," with an initial name of "Google AI Ultra Lite." This new service aims to fill the market gap between the existing AI Pro (monthly fee of $20) and AI Ultra (monthly fee of $250), with an estimated price of around $100, intended to compete with similar products from competitors such as Anthropic and OpenAI.
Currently, Google's AI subscription services have a significant pricing gap. AI Pro is suitable for light users, while AI Ultra is designed for enterprise-level users with a higher price. For advanced users who need to handle complex workflows, Pro lacks sufficient resources, while Ultra's high cost deters many users. Therefore, the launch of Ultra Lite will provide this group with more resources without having to pay the high cost of Ultra.
Additionally, Google plans to introduce a dedicated dashboard in its new Gemini macOS app, aiming to address issues of opaque quotas when using AI. This dashboard will help users track their AI usage in real-time and display three key data points: short-term usage limit (GXU_FIVE_HOURLY), weekly quota (GXU_WEEKLY), and overage credits (OVERAGE_CREDITS). This new feature will help users better plan their token consumption and avoid usage limits during project execution.
In summary, Google's new subscription service and quota management tools will make its AI products more attractive, offering more flexible options for users with different needs and promoting the adoption of AI technology among various users.
