On April 28, during the 2026 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference held in Chongqing, Sichuan Hongmofang Network Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tencent Cloud. The two parties will integrate their respective strengths in cloud computing, AI large models, and intelligent hardware to jointly develop next-generation AI dolls. This collaboration not only marks the deep integration of technology and terminals but also indicates that the AI toy industry is accelerating its transformation from a simple "functional tool" to an intelligent entity capable of "emotional companionship."
Combining Software and Hardware: Giving Traditional Toys a "Smart Brain"
Hongmofang, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Changhong, has accumulated a solid user base and industrial chain experience in smart TV operations and large-screen entertainment. Meanwhile, Tencent Cloud possesses core technologies in AI large models (such as the Huan Yuan large model) and AI agent development platforms (ADP).
According to the agreement, the cooperation between the two parties will cover three dimensions:
Product Innovation: Injecting Tencent Cloud's voice interaction and multimodal understanding AI capabilities into Hongmofang's hardware terminals to create AI dolls with human-like interactive abilities, focusing on children's education and intelligent companionship scenarios.
Solution Upgrades: Using AI to upgrade traditional consumer electronics, exploring more innovative applications of smart hardware, and achieving the evolution of products from passive response to active service.
Cloud Infrastructure: Hongmofang will fully access Tencent Cloud's server, object storage, and CDN infrastructure, optimizing the technical architecture to ensure a more stable and smooth experience for millions of terminal users when enjoying AI interactions.
Industry Trends: From Laboratories to Home Scenarios
The current toy industry is facing challenges such as weak interactivity and lagging content. This collaboration aims to redefine the boundaries of "toys" by introducing AI Agent technology. By combining cloud computing power with terminal hardware design and supply chain management, the two parties aim to drive AI toys from conceptual stages to large-scale commercialization.
Tencent Cloud stated that through the output of full-stack enterprise-level AI capabilities, it will help partners bridge the gap between model foundations and real-world application scenarios. For consumers, this may mean that toys appearing in living rooms in the future will no longer be cold objects but "intelligent partners" capable of understanding emotions and providing personalized content.
