Amid the rapid development of the artificial intelligence industry, many users are experiencing increasing anxiety. This phenomenon is further illustrated by Cat Wu, the product lead for Claude Code at Anthropic. She pointed out that the high-speed iteration of AI has led to "fear of missing out" (FOMO), and users need to constantly check social platforms to stay updated with the latest features and product information.
Cat Wu emphasized that in the past, product release frequencies were typically one new feature per month or quarter, allowing users to check occasionally and stay informed. However, with increased competition, many tech companies and startups have been continuously accelerating the release of new products and features, leading to user fatigue. She said, "People are starting to feel that they need to check social platforms every day to know the latest features." This situation is not only present in products like Claude Code, but is a common phenomenon across the entire industry.
To alleviate user anxiety, Cat Wu said she hopes to create "stress-free" products for users. She wants users to feel guided rather than forced to keep up with the pace of technological advancement in future designs. She pointed out that users should be able to easily access the knowledge they need simply by opening the tool, experiencing a sense of being guided.
However, this fast-paced release cycle has also brought many problems. Recently, some users have reported a significant decline in the response quality of Claude Code. In response, Anthropic denied intentionally lowering the tool's performance and stated that they are investigating several issues causing the decline in user experience.
