Recently, Taobao and Tmall officially launched a new AI fake image identification model to address the issue of some users using AI technology to forge images of damaged or stained products and maliciously applying for refunds. The introduction of this new feature will help protect the legitimate rights and interests of merchants and reduce losses caused by false after-sales evidence. With the rapid development of e-commerce, there have been more and more cases of fraud using AI-generated images in after-sales services. Some users use software editing or AI technology to create fake images of damage or stains, attempting to obtain improper refunds. This behavior not only harms the interests of merchants but also affects the normal operation of the platform. To solve this problem, Taobao and Tmall have started using the latest AI image detection technology from Alibaba Security, establishing a complete system for identifying fake images.

This AI fake image identification model has strong identification capabilities, accurately distinguishing between pure AI-generated images, edited real images, and fake evidence with software watermarks. In practice, merchants can easily report suspected fake images through the Qian Niu Wang Wang chat interface. The platform will directly make dispute rulings based on the AI's judgment and send warnings to merchants to ensure they are not harmed by false refunds anymore.

Currently, this feature is prioritized for merchants with a rating of 4.8 and above, and it will be gradually expanded to more merchants in the future, helping to optimize the business environment for e-commerce. Through this technical means, Taobao and Tmall hope to effectively curb the act of forging after-sales evidence, thus providing a safer business space for merchants.
