Amid the increasingly competitive market for smart wearables, Google seems to be preparing to take a different approach. According to tech media reports, Google is expected to officially launch a screenless fitness bracelet called Fitbit Air on May 16, 2026. This product has a clear positioning, aiming to challenge high-end screenless tracker brands like Whoop, with an estimated starting price of $99 (approximately RMB 676).

In terms of design, the Fitbit Air completely abandons the traditional smartwatch display, pursuing an extreme minimalist style. To meet the personalized needs of different users, the initial version will offer three richly textured color options: obsidian black, lavender purple, and berry red. In addition, the official also prepared a variety of accessories, including high-performance circular bands, sport wristbands, SoftFlex premium bands, and metal mesh bands. The materials include silicone, fabric, and metal, suitable for various scenarios from high-intensity exercise to business social occasions.

Due to the absence of a screen, the interaction logic of the Fitbit Air has undergone a fundamental change. The device mainly communicates with users through tactile feedback (vibration) and real-time push notifications on the mobile phone. This design aims to reduce the interference of electronic screens, allowing users to be more immersed in their workouts rather than frequently checking data interfaces.

Although the appearance is simplified, its core monitoring functions have not been reduced. The Fitbit Air can accurately track steps, distance traveled, and calories burned, and supports 24/7 real-time heart rate monitoring, providing users with in-depth insights into cardiovascular health. In addition, regarding the sleep issues that modern people are concerned about, this bracelet can also provide detailed analysis of sleep duration and quality.

The software ecosystem is the core selling point of this new product. The Fitbit Air will be deeply integrated into the Google Health platform, allowing users to manage key indicators such as heart rate, blood pressure, and blood sugar on their mobile devices. The most notable feature is that the device will be equipped with the AI personal health coach service called Google Health Coach. Using large model technology, the AI will customize personalized nutrition plans, set fitness goals, and provide motivational mechanisms for users, helping them establish scientific health management habits.
