On April 15, the Qwen AI Glasses S1 announced its official release. This year, AI glasses worldwide are accelerating into a boom period, with a growth rate eight times that of the overall smart glasses market. The first AI glasses of Qwen, G1, were released in March, and Apple and Huawei have been rumored to launch their first AI glasses.
With the boom of AI glasses, AI companies have gradually established themselves as the first tier in the glasses market: Meta's annual shipment is nearly 8 million units, and Qwen's first AI glasses G1 captured more than 70% of the online AI glasses market in its first week of release. In contrast, Huawei and Apple have recently been reported to enter the market, but none have officially launched yet. It is rumored that Apple may bring its first AI glasses in 2027.
Compared to traditional hardware manufacturers' glasses, AI glasses based on AI assistants offer more functions. Half a month ago, after an OTA update, the Qwen AI Glasses introduced "AI handling" capabilities such as scanning and riding bicycles, paying parking fees, and ordering food. For example, when traveling, users don't need to take out their phones; they just need to say "I want to pay" to the QR code of a shared bicycle with their glasses to unlock the bike for riding.
