U.S. AI policy is receiving the highest-level "think tank" support in history. According to the latest report, President Trump plans to establish a high-level technology committee to provide core advice on AI policies and related technological issues. This list is known as the Silicon Valley power ranking, bringing together the most influential leaders in the current global AI wave.
The first 13 members of the committee announced by the White House are all "industry leaders":
Powerhouses of computing and social media: NVIDIA CEO Jim Huang and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg are listed, representing the hardware foundation and application frontiers of AI, respectively.
Old-tech pioneers: Oracle Executive Chairman Larry Ellison, Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell, and Google co-founder Sergey Brin will also join, offering deep industry insights for policy making.
The committee (PCAST) is co-chaired by David Sacks, the White House official in charge of AI and cryptocurrency affairs, among others. Its core mission is clear:
Reform regulation: Create a more favorable regulatory environment to ensure the U.S. global leadership in AI and cryptocurrency.
Address challenges: Focus on the opportunities and impacts of emerging technologies on the workforce, driving the U.S. to achieve leapfrog development in the "golden era of innovation."
National security: Strengthen the U.S. competitiveness and national security defenses through policy measures.
Regarding this appointment, Zuckerberg stated that the U.S. has the opportunity to lead the world in AI, and he is honored to contribute with industry leaders. This "government-industry collaboration" indicates that future U.S. AI policies will deeply integrate practical experiences from leading companies, reducing administrative interference on technological development.
