JD Cloud officially launched the OpenClaw automation tool on March 12 and announced that it will hold an offline installation experience event at JD's headquarters in Beijing on March 13. As a core component of the "Everyone Raising Shrimp Plan," this project has collaborated with multiple departments of JD such as 3C electronics, fresh products, and services. Through the fun incentive method of exchanging "digital shrimp" for "physical shrimp," it aims to break down the high technical barriers of AI agents and accelerate their penetration into remote control and automated office scenarios.

The initial design purpose of OpenClaw is to simplify the deployment process of AI agents. Users can obtain physical rewards and free access to millions of Tokens by completing the installation and performing specific tasks. For developers and heavy users, JD also launched the JoyCode intelligent coding assistant benefits; while for ordinary consumers, JD provided a remote deployment and installation assistant service priced at more than 300 yuan, aiming to achieve an intelligent experience without leaving home.
From an industry perspective, this move marks the evolution of large model applications from cloud-based conversations to edge-side automated control. Remote control and automated tasks, which OpenClaw focuses on, are key paths for the commercialization of AI agents. By integrating internal ecological supply chain advantages, JD has transformed the tedious code deployment into tangible consumer incentives, not only reducing the cost of technology popularization but also providing a new model for large-scale customer acquisition for AI-native applications. As edge-side AI capabilities improve, such automation tools that lower the interaction threshold may become the standard entry point for large models to access the physical world.
