Between the $20 Plus plan and the $200 Pro plan, OpenAI seems to be preparing to fill a significant market gap. Developer Tibor Blaho recently discovered a new subscription plan called "Pro Lite" in the checkout page code of

This new tier is not without foundation. Earlier in the OpenAI community forum, many users had called for a "mid-range version" with moderate pricing and sufficient quotas. From the currently leaked page description, Pro Lite will offer users "unlimited access" to OpenAI's top models, along with unlimited advanced voice features and quotas for image and video generation.
For developers and researchers, the most attractive aspect of Pro Lite may lie in its performance. According to reports, this plan will provide access to the Codex programming agent with "priority speed." Based on code snippets, the "deep reasoning model" usage quota provided to users of Pro Lite is expected to be 3 to 5 times that of the Plus plan.
Although OpenAI has not officially announced it yet, based on the "development draft" indication on the checkout page, the plan has entered the testing phase. AIbase believes that the launch of Pro Lite will greatly alleviate the awkward situation of professional users who find "Plus not enough and Pro too expensive." Through this tiered pricing strategy, OpenAI is trying to include a broader range of freelancers and small and medium-sized tech teams into its paid ecosystem through differentiated services.
