Recently, NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang reiterated that the $10 billion investment plan for OpenAI is still proceeding as scheduled. Despite reports of tension between the two companies, Huang stated, "There have been no dramatic events, everything is proceeding as planned."

In September last year, Huang and OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman jointly announced that NVIDIA would invest up to $10 billion (approximately 695.193 billion yuan) in phases to help build artificial intelligence infrastructure. Huang pointed out that the project's power demand could reach an astonishing 10 billion watts. However, as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released a filing in November indicating that the deal had not yet been finalized, doubts began to arise about the authenticity of this investment.

Over the past few months, OpenAI's chip inventory has been insufficient to meet the market demand for its products such as ChatGPT, prompting it to seek collaboration with other chip suppliers, including competitors like AMD. This change has raised further concerns about whether there are cracks in OpenAI's relationship with NVIDIA.

However, Huang clearly stated that NVIDIA will participate in OpenAI's next round of funding, calling it "the largest private equity financing in history." According to CNBC, OpenAI is preparing for a new round of funding potentially reaching $10 billion. Huang emphasized, "We will participate in the next round of funding, there is no doubt about that." He also said that NVIDIA will consider participating in all of OpenAI's funding rounds and expects to be involved in its final initial public offering (IPO).

According to sources, NVIDIA is expected to invest $20 billion (approximately 139.039 billion yuan) in this round of funding, which would become one of its largest single investments in OpenAI. Although the terms are still being negotiated, cooperation between the two companies seems to be progressing steadily.

To dispel external doubts, Altman also expressed on social media: "We are very willing to cooperate with NVIDIA, they are the world's leading AI chip manufacturers. We hope to be a major customer of NVIDIA in the long term." These words demonstrate that a good working relationship still exists between OpenAI and NVIDIA.
