Apple Fitness+, Apple's subscription-based fitness service, is now available in Japan. The service was first launched in 2020 and has since gradually expanded to multiple countries and regions. Japan is one of its latest markets.
In the Japanese version, Apple Fitness+ continues its consistent content system, offering users a variety of fitness classes including strength training, cardio, yoga, meditation, and "Walk Time." These courses can be accessed through iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, enabling seamless integration across devices.

Notably, despite being one of the world's most valuable companies, Apple did not use local fitness instructors to re-record course content for this launch. Instead, it provided existing courses with a unified coach voiceover version. This approach has drawn some attention regarding its localization strategy.
Jay Blahnik, Vice President of Apple Fitness Technology, said in a statement: "We are very excited to bring Apple Fitness+ to Japanese users. Through tight integration with iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, users can easily exercise and meditate anytime, anywhere."
Currently, Apple Fitness+ is available in Japan for eligible users as part of Apple's service ecosystem.
