According to reports, the AI application Qwen under Alibaba has exceeded 100 million monthly active users (MAU) just two months after its launch, showing strong growth among students and white-collar workers. However, as of the time of this report, Alibaba has not yet made an official response to this data.
The Qwen app started its public beta in November 2025, marking a substantive phase in Alibaba's strategic shift from B-end enterprise services to C-end consumer markets. As the core product of Alibaba's full-scale entry into the AI to C market, Qwen is expected to become the "entry point of the AI era" strategically.

Wu Jia, President of Alibaba's Intelligent Information Business Group, clearly positioned Qwen as a "personal AI assistant that can chat and handle tasks." He emphasized that Qwen's core competitiveness lies in two dimensions: intelligence level and task-handling ability. The product aims to build a true AI assistant that understands user needs and can solve real-world problems anytime, anywhere.
If the 100 million MAU data is accurate, this would be an important milestone for Alibaba in the consumer-level AI application market, reflecting the rapid improvement of domestic users' acceptance of AI tools. From the beta phase to exceeding 100 million users, Qwen's growth rate demonstrates the huge potential of super AI applications in the C-end market.
