Skylight, which started as an electronic picture frame, has quietly evolved into a digital concierge for modern families. At CES 2026, the company launched the new Skylight Calendar 2 — a mid-sized smart calendar device between the 15-inch classic model and the 27-inch wall-mounted Calendar Max. It continues the design language of interchangeable colorful frames, easily blending into different home styles. However, the real innovation lies not in the hardware, but in its AI-driven family collaboration system deeply integrated behind it.
The core value of Skylight lies in seamlessly aggregating fragmented family information flows. Its calendar function automatically syncs all schedules from Google Calendar, iCal, Microsoft Outlook, and even children's sports apps like TeamSnap, distinguishing each member's schedule with vivid colors. More ingeniously, it can "understand" unstructured information: parents just need to take a photo of a paper notice or event flyer their child brings home from school, and the AI will automatically identify key dates and create corresponding events, completely eliminating the hassle of manual entry.

This device is much more than a calendar board. It offers a complete solution for many daily household management challenges — messy shopping lists, forgotten dentist appointments, and the weekly dilemma of "what to eat." Parents can mark "Tuesday Taco Night" on the calendar, and the system will immediately recommend recipes and generate a list of required ingredients; if connected to Instacart, it can even push them directly to the shopping cart. Another practical AI feature allows users to take a photo of the inside of the fridge, and the system will then recommend recipes that can be made immediately using available ingredients, maximizing usage and reducing waste.
In terms of design, Skylight fully considers the user experience for all age groups. The interface features large icons, high-contrast colors, and intuitive navigation, allowing even young children who cannot read to complete tasks through image recognition — for example, seeing a broom icon means it's time to clean. When idle, the device naturally reverts to its electronic photo frame nature, playing family precious moments, making technology warm and unobtrusive.
