On January 6, Baidu's autonomous driving mobility service platform "Apollo Go" achieved a major breakthrough in its overseas expansion: it officially obtained a fully autonomous vehicle testing license issued by the Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA). This marks Apollo Go as the first and only platform approved to conduct fully autonomous road tests in Dubai.
With the issuance of the license, Apollo Go's first "fully autonomous integrated operation base" built overseas also went into operation in Dubai. The base integrates core functions such as daily vehicle operations, maintenance upgrades, safety control, and personnel training, making it the first "smart hub" in the Middle East capable of supporting large-scale fully autonomous vehicle fleets. According to the plan, the scale of Apollo Go's fully autonomous vehicle fleet in Dubai will quickly expand to over 1,000 vehicles.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of the Dubai Road and Transport Authority, witnessed the first fully autonomous test vehicle on the road in Dubai and called this move a key milestone in Dubai's smart mobility strategy. Since signing a strategic cooperation agreement in March 2025, Apollo Go has frequently set records in Dubai: from obtaining the 001 autonomous driving test license in July 2025, to showcasing at the World Autonomous Transportation Conference in September 2025, and now achieving the implementation of fully autonomous licenses, demonstrating extremely high global efficiency.
As of the end of October 2025, Apollo Go has been operating in 22 cities worldwide, with cumulative travel service counts exceeding 17 million, and weekly fully autonomous orders exceeding 250,000. The total mileage has exceeded 240 million kilometers. In the future, Apollo Go will continue to focus on the Dubai market, helping it build a new benchmark for global smart transportation innovation.
