Google has recently launched an experimental AI assistant called CC, designed to change users' busy mornings. This assistant will proactively organize users' email, calendar, and document information each morning and send it to their inbox in a personalized "Daily Preview" summary. The design philosophy of CC is to allow users to wake up without being overwhelmed by complex information, instead starting the day with a clear overview.
CC will generate a concise calendar overview based on the user's daily schedule, highlighting important items that require special attention, such as bills to pay, upcoming meetings, or activities that need prior preparation. This not only helps users clearly understand their key tasks for the day but also allows them to draft email content in advance or even create calendar invitation links, enabling them to efficiently handle critical matters before the day starts.
Currently, the CC assistant is available for early experience among paid subscribers aged 18 and over in the United States and Canada. Google has also launched a waitlist page for users to apply for access. It is worth noting that Google has not yet announced the specific duration of the waitlist period, nor has it clearly stated when the service will be expanded further.
CC is built on Google's Gemini large model, which can integrate Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive, among other services, to better understand user needs and preferences by obtaining more background information. Additionally, users can "teach" CC more about themselves by replying to the summary email or sending emails directly to CC, thereby improving the assistant's level of intelligence.
Similar to ChatGPT Pulse, launched by OpenAI in September this year, CC also provides personalized daily information summaries. The latter was called "one of the favorite features in a long time" by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. This indicates that the market for personalized AI assistants is gradually expanding, and user demand is continuously increasing.
