Disney CEO **Bob Iger** recently revealed details of the company's three-year licensing agreement with OpenAI to CNBC: The exclusive license period is only one year.

Disney announced its collaboration with OpenAI last week, licensing content from more than 200 iconic characters under Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and "Star Wars" to be used by OpenAI's Sora video generator. This means that OpenAI temporarily becomes the only AI company that has been legally authorized to allow users to create content using these major IP on its platform.

For OpenAI, this move gives it a major content partner, greatly enriching the creative resources of Sora.

For Disney, this agreement is a cautious strategic trial. Iger clearly stated that after the exclusive licensing period ends, Disney will have the freedom to sign similar agreements with other artificial intelligence companies. This allows Disney to first assess the progress of its collaboration with OpenAI and how its intellectual property is applied in generative AI, laying the foundation for future broader collaborations.

Iger emphasized the company's commitment to technology during an interview with CNBC: "No generation of humans can stop technological advancement, and we don't plan to try. We have always believed that if technological progress is inevitable, including disrupting our current business models, then we should go with the flow."
