WeChat Input Method is accelerating toward becoming an AI voice interaction entry point. Recently, its iOS version 3.0.0 has started internal testing, with the core focus on the deep restructuring of voice input capabilities—not only has the underlying large model been comprehensively upgraded to achieve "faster and more accurate" recognition results, but it also marks a key step in practicality and user experience.
The most notable feature of this update is native support for multiple languages and dialects. When using voice input, users can freely switch between Chinese, English, and various Chinese dialects without manually switching input modes. The system will automatically recognize the voice content and accurately transcribe it. Whether it's Cantonese conversations, Sichuan dialect chats, or mixed Chinese-English workplace dialogues, the input method can handle them smoothly.
For long-duration voice scenarios, the new version has completely removed the time limit for voice input. Long meetings, classroom lectures, or interview recordings can now be transcribed seamlessly, greatly reducing the burden of segmenting operations. Combined with the newly added "voice standby duration" setting function, users can also customize the standby time after activating voice input, achieving a "speak and record, no need to switch" seamless experience—making the voice entry always available, ready to be activated at any time, completely eliminating the interruption caused by frequent screen switching.
WeChat Input Method was formerly known as "WeChat Keyboard," and it officially changed its name in June 2023, shifting its positioning from a basic input tool to an intelligent interaction platform. Currently, the latest official iOS version is 2.2.6 released on December 3rd, and the release of the 3.0 internal test version marks the product's firm shift toward a voice-first interaction paradigm driven by large models.
