At the Amazon Web Services re:Invent 2025 global conference, Amazon officially announced two breakthrough generative AI services: Nova Forge, designed for enterprises to build custom large models, and Nova Act, designed for rapid agent development. Among them, Nova Forge is regarded as the "ultimate solution" to the challenge of deeply integrating enterprise-specific knowledge.

For a long time, enterprises could only choose among three "dead ends" when injecting their own knowledge into AI models: shallow fine-tuning of closed-source models, continuous training of open-source models leading to degradation of basic capabilities, or investing heavily to train from scratch. Nova Forge first opens up the full training cycle (pre-training, mid-training, post-training) model checkpoints of Nova, allowing customers to mix their proprietary data with Amazon Nova's curated dataset at any stage, creating customized variants that retain Nova's cutting-edge reasoning capabilities while deeply understanding business contexts—officially named "Novellas".
Currently, enterprises can immediately start building Novellas based on Nova2Lite. Several top clients, including Booking.com, Cosine AI, Nimbus Therapeutics, Sumitomo Research, OpenBabylon, Reddit, and Sony, have already adopted Nova Forge to develop proprietary models that are highly tailored to their businesses.
Amazon stated that Nova Forge marks the beginning of a new era of "open training," allowing enterprises to truly own their own Nova without sacrificing cutting-edge capabilities.
