Recently, Google announced further restrictions on the free user access to its latest AI tool Gemini 3 Pro and the image generation tool Nano Banana Pro. This decision was made due to a surge in user demand, which has put significant pressure on Google's capacity. Since the launch of Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro, users have shown great interest and enthusiasm for their features.

Initially, free users of Gemini 3 Pro could send up to 5 prompts per day, the same limit as the previous Gemini 2.5 Pro. Additionally, users could use Nano Banana Pro to generate and edit images, with a daily limit of 3 images. However, as demand continued to rise, Google decided to adjust these usage limits. Currently, free users can only get "basic access," and when using the "think" feature of Gemini 3 Pro, they may face frequently changing limits.

Google has clearly stated that the daily usage limit for image generation and editing has been tightened to allow only 2 images to be generated. The company noted that current demand for image generation and editing is very high, and the limits may often be adjusted and reset daily. Meanwhile, some new features on the NotebookLM platform have been temporarily rolled back, and free users can no longer use the "infographic" and "slide deck" features supported by Nano Banana Pro. Although Pro subscription users can still access these features, they are also subject to certain usage limitations.

In response, Google stated that due to demand exceeding expectations, they are facing capacity pressure and promised to restore normal service as soon as possible. However, it is worth noting that this adjustment does not affect the usage limits for Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription users.

Under this context, the user experience of free Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro may be affected, and users need to adjust their usage strategies according to the new limits.
