Recently, OpenAI announced that its third-party web analytics service provider, Mixpanel, was subjected to a cyberattack, and some API user data may have been leaked. OpenAI stated in the statement that Mixpanel's services were mainly used for data analysis on its front-end interface, but after receiving notification from Mixpanel, OpenAI immediately stopped using the service.

According to OpenAI's explanation, this security incident did not cause any damage to its own system, so users of ChatGPT and other products are not affected. However, the hacker attack on Mixpanel may have led to the leakage of some OpenAI user account information. This information includes account names, associated email addresses, approximate location information, operating systems and browsers used for access, referral websites, and related organization or user IDs.

Notably, the leaked data does not include chat records, API requests, API usage data, passwords, credentials, API keys, payment information, or government-issued identity information. OpenAI emphasized that they are doing their utmost to ensure the security of user data and will continue to monitor the situation to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
