As AI begins to "remember who you are," the relationship between humans and technology is being redefined. The startup Uare.ai (formerly Eternos), founded by LivePerson's Robert LoCascio, recently announced a $10.3 million seed funding round led by Mayfield and Boldstart Ventures. It has officially transitioned from "digital legacy services" to a personal AI agent platform—its goal is no longer to commemorate the deceased, but to empower the living: allowing every professional, creator, and even ordinary user to train a "digital twin" that truly represents their knowledge, values, and personality.
From End-of-Life Conversations to Mass AI Avatars: An Unexpected Shift
The predecessor of Uare.ai, Eternos, initially focused on creating digital legacies for those nearing the end of life. Its first user, Michael Bommer, a late-stage cancer patient, spent 25 hours telling his life story, generating a highly realistic AI replica that attracted widespread attention. However, LoCascio soon realized that most users were not preparing for death, but rather wanted an "AI that represents their work."
This insight led to a strategic shift. The new brand Uare.ai launched the Human Life Model (HLM)—a proprietary AI trained solely on individual data, completely independent of general large models. It does not rely on internet information to fill in gaps; if asked about unknown topics, it will honestly respond "I don't know," ensuring that the output always remains faithful to the person.
"You own your model," said LoCascio, "large models become smart through our data, but you should have your own intelligent asset."
How to Create Your AI Avatar? Three Steps to Build Your 'Digital Self'
The Uare.ai platform will launch later this year, allowing users to answer a series of deep questions through text, voice, or video:
"What is your most unforgettable childhood experience?"
"What was the key turning point in your career?"
"What are the core methodologies in your professional field?"
The system will combine these narratives with factual data to build an HLM that has a personal knowledge system, decision-making logic, and expression style. In the future, this AI can represent you in:
Writing industry analyses and replying to client inquiries;
Posting content on social platforms that reflects your views;
Even taking on projects, achieving "24/7 non-stop work."
Business Model: You Create, You Monetize
Uare.ai plans to generate revenue through subscription fees or profit-sharing models—if users earn income through their digital avatars (such as consulting fees or content tips), the platform will take a percentage. This marks the雏形 of a "personal AI economy": your knowledge and personality become reusable, tradable digital assets.
Differentiated Positioning: Targeting Professionals, Not Virtual Celebrities
Unlike "celebrity IP replicas" like Character.ai or Delphi, which Arnold Schwarzenegger participated in, Uare.ai focuses on professionals such as CPAs, lawyers, designers, and teachers. Navin Chaddha, a partner at Mayfield, noted: "It allows each individual to be the 'owner' and 'operator' of their own AI, which is true decentralized intelligence."
AIbase believes that the rise of Uare.ai signals that AI is moving from "general assistants" to the "personal agent" era. When your digital avatar can not only speak, but also work, earn money, and pass on ideas, the relationship between humans and AI will no longer be "usage," but "symbiosis." And all of this starts with a simple question: "Who are you?"
