Google recently announced its November software update for the Pixel phone, the quarterly feature release version Pixel Drop, which brings a series of important innovative features to existing devices. The core highlight of this update is the deepened artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, aimed at enhancing user experience, strengthening device security, and optimizing battery life.
Regarding core AI features, Google is deeply integrating the capabilities of Gemini Nano into users' daily applications. In the "Messages" app, a new feature called Remix has been added. This innovation is based on the Nano Banana image model and Gemini technology, allowing users to re-create existing photos based on prompts. This feature is now available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, and New Zealand, and supports RCS and English.

At the same time, Google introduced a "notification summary" feature similar to the one Apple introduced last year in its Apple Intelligence suite, which provides summaries for longer chats and conversations on Pixel 9 and newer models. Previously, Apple's "priority notifications" feature highlighted important information, while Google plans to launch a feature to block low-priority notifications in December as a countermeasure.
In terms of device security and global coverage, Google has significantly enhanced its fraud detection capabilities. The phone fraud detection and on-device voice detection features based on Gemini Nano, which were previously launched in the United States, are now expanded to the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Australia, and Canada. In addition, to further protect user safety, Google added a new feature that adds a "This may be a scam" button in message notifications to indicate potential risks, building upon Google's existing capabilities for analyzing message content and detecting spam.
To enhance user experience and creativity, Google introduced two practical features. To address battery challenges, Google launched a new low-power mode for its Maps application, available to Pixel 10 series users. This mode saves up to four hours of battery life by dimming the screen and displaying only essential information such as navigation routes. In terms of image editing, Google Photos introduced a new AI editing feature, allowing users to click "Help me edit" and then use more natural prompts (e.g., "Remove Riley's sunglasses, open my eyes, make Engel smile and open their eyes") to edit photos. This feature will use Google Photos' face recognition functionality to identify people and precisely execute editing operations.
Finally, this update also optimized other existing features, such as the **"VIP feature"** added in June, where notifications from the eight most intimate contacts are prioritized, and if there are emergencies such as floods in their area, users will see a crisis badge in the contact widget. Additionally, the call transcription feature ("Call Notes") has expanded support to Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Japan. Meanwhile, Pixel 6 and newer models received a new theme pack based on the movie "Wicked: For Good," including wallpapers, icons, system sound effects, and GIF animations.
