The next-generation large model from OpenAI seems to have entered the final testing phase. On the night of November 7th, the OpenRouter platform suddenly launched a new unnamed model called "Polaris Alpha," which is widely believed to be a test version of the upcoming GPT5.1.
This model has already opened API calls, and its configuration parameters are very impressive, with a maximum context capacity of an astonishing 256K, a maximum output of 128K per session, and a knowledge base cutoff date updated to October 2024, although it does not currently support reasoning mode.

User tests show that Polaris performs stably in text generation, copywriting creativity, and programming tasks. Its writing style has typical "GPT series" characteristics and demonstrates self-correction capabilities when processing long text inputs, being able to correct errors during secondary runs. Especially in programming scenarios, the model can quickly generate game code and support web design with certain aesthetic features.
Notably, since OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously explicitly stated that an NSFW (adult mode) would be released by the end of the year, and signs of related functions have already appeared in the test version of Polaris, this further strengthens the speculation about its connection to GPT5.1. According to market rumors, GPT5.1 is expected to be officially released as early as mid-November.
