Hyundai Motor and NVIDIA recently announced that the two companies will further deepen their cooperation to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) factory based on NVIDIA's latest Blackwell architecture. This collaboration was first revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year, and the two companies will jointly develop multiple projects including autonomous vehicles, smart factories, and robot technologies.

This collaboration has received support from the South Korean government and was detailed at the APEC 2025 South Korea Summit. Hyundai Motor and NVIDIA stated that the collaboration will enter a new phase, focusing on joint innovation in core physical AI technologies. The planned AI factory will be equipped with 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to achieve integrated AI training, verification, and deployment.

This factory will not only integrate AI technologies within vehicles, autonomous driving, manufacturing factory automation, and robot technologies, but will also use several key platforms from NVIDIA. The NVIDIA DGX platform will support the training and software development of large-scale AI models, while the Omniverse and Cosmos platforms will be used for optimizing digital twin technologies for manufacturing and autonomous driving testing. At the same time, DRIVE AGX Thor will act as the real-time AI brain for vehicles and robots.

In addition to building the AI factory, Hyundai Motor and NVIDIA signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Communication Technology of South Korea, aiming to work with stakeholders to promote the development of the national AI ecosystem. This investment of approximately $3 billion will be used to establish Hyundai Motor's physical AI application center, NVIDIA's AI technology center, and multiple physical AI data centers.

Vice Minister of Science and Information and Communications Technology of South Korea, Bae Kyung-hoon, welcomed this initiative, stating that the development of physical AI is crucial for South Korea to make breakthroughs in the AI field. This public-private partnership marks an important beginning, which will promote the cooperation model between the two parties by combining South Korea's rich manufacturing data with NVIDIA's advanced AI infrastructure.

Chung Eui-sun, Executive Chairman of Hyundai Motor, pointed out that this collaboration will take an important step forward for Hyundai Motor and South Korea in terms of AI leadership. Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, said that the two companies will jointly create cars and factories that will shape the future of the trillion-dollar mobility industry.
