Apple is accelerating its artificial intelligence strategy. CEO Tim Cook revealed in an interview with CNBC that Apple plans to deeply integrate more third-party AI tools into its own operating system in the future. He said, "Our intention is to integrate with more partners over time."

Currently, Apple has integrated ChatGPT into Siri and is reportedly conducting integration tests with Google Gemini. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Apple is discussing potential collaborations with Anthropic and Perplexity AI. This move means that Apple is no longer limited to developing its own AI but is instead choosing to build an ecosystem with industry-leading models to accelerate the deployment of AI features on devices.

In fact, Apple's senior leadership has long hinted at partnerships with third-party AI. Last year, Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, mentioned that the company "may expect to integrate with different models like Google Gemini in the future." Cook's recent statement further confirms Apple's open strategy.

During Thursday's earnings call, Cook revealed that Apple plans to launch an AI-enhanced version of Siri next year and said the project is "progressing well." He also emphasized that Apple is actively seeking acquisition opportunities related to AI, stating, "If we believe that acquisitions can advance our roadmap, we will not hesitate to take action."

This news comes as Apple just announced its fiscal year 2025 fourth-quarter financial results: the company recorded $102.5 billion in revenue, a year-over-year increase of 8%, setting a new quarterly high. Although the newly launched iPhone 17 series has not yet fully reflected the AI upgrade plan, Cook stated that AI technology will play a central role in future products.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is considering collaborating with Google to develop an AI search tool for Siri based on Gemini. Google CEO Sundar Pichai also confirmed last year that the Gemini team has been working on adapting the model for iPhones.

On the hardware side, the new iPhone 17 series includes the ultra-thin iPhone Air, upgraded iPhone 17/17 Pro, and some Pro-level features, such as ProMotion always-on display, have been downgraded to entry-level models. In this quarter, Apple's iPhone revenue reached $49.03 billion, Mac revenue $8.72 billion, iPad revenue $6.95 billion, while service business revenue reached $28.8 billion, continuing to be a key driver of the company's growth.

In addition, Apple also released the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro equipped with the M5 chip, significantly improving overall performance. Industry rumors suggest that Apple is preparing to launch a more affordable iPhone 17e to further expand the user base of its AI ecosystem.
