According to the latest Q3 2025 AI Application Industry Report released by QuestMobile, the number of users for mobile AI applications has exceeded 700 million. The monthly active users for mobile-native apps, In-App AI, and smartphone manufacturers' AI assistants reached 287 million, 706 million, and 535 million respectively, with composite growth rates of 3.4%, 9.3%, and 1.2% in Q3. This growth is mainly attributed to the efforts of major manufacturers in model upgrades and ecosystem collaboration.
In the past few months, major internet companies have been actively updating their large models. The update frequencies for Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, and Douyin are 3.8 days per update, 4.6 days per update, 6.6 days per update, and 8.0 days per update, respectively. At the same time, the manufacturers are actively building MCP services through cloud services and developer communities. By October 20th, the number of MCP services from the four major manufacturers reached 9,384, further promoting the openness of the industry.
From the user usage perspective, mobile AI application plugins occupy 31 positions among the monthly active users, leading other forms. The top three are Baidu AI Search, Douyin AI Search, and WeChat AI Search. Among the top 20 applications in the entire industry, each application with In-App AI has an average of 2.5 AI applications, demonstrating the strong performance of the plugin format.
However, the growth rate of PC applications is relatively slow. Despite this, eight AI applications have made it into the TOP50. The monthly active users for DeepSeek's web version and Baidu AI Assistant are 52.5 million and 34.26 million, respectively. In contrast, over 85% of PC web applications have a monthly active user count below 500,000, and only 24.7% of applications achieved positive growth.
Regarding user usage duration, native apps from internet/AI technology companies still lead, reaching 117.7 minutes. The usage duration for AI application plugins and smartphone manufacturers' AI assistants is 31 minutes and 5.3 minutes, respectively. The user performance of various applications remains stable, with the monthly active user base of Douyin and DeepSeek being 172 million and 145 million, respectively.
The AI industry in Q3 2025 shows a continuous growth trend. Major companies continue to innovate in technological iteration and user experience, laying a solid foundation for future development.
