Recently, NVIDIA and OpenAI announced a major collaboration, planning to build a 10GW AI data center together. This investment commitment will reach an astonishing 100 billion dollars, marking NVIDIA's largest investment to date. According to the plans of both parties, the first phase of the project is expected to be implemented by the second half of 2026.

It is reported that OpenAI will use NVIDIA's hardware and technology to deploy powerful computing power, including millions of GPUs, to train and run next-generation AI models. This data center will provide important support for the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, stated that this strategic cooperation will drive the arrival of the intelligent era, and 10GW of computing power is equivalent to 4 million to 5 million GPUs, far exceeding the company's previous shipments.

Huang pointed out that the cost of building a 1GW data center ranges from 500 to 600 billion dollars, and the entire 10GW project may cost thousands of billions of dollars. He emphasized that this is not just a simple investment, but the cornerstone of the future economy, because computing infrastructure will play an increasingly important role in the future.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, also expressed optimism about this collaboration. He pointed out that computing power is the core of advancing AI, and the cooperation between the two parties will not only promote breakthroughs in AI technology, but also provide strong technical support for individuals and businesses.

The collaboration between the two parties will also complement OpenAI's existing collaborations with other tech giants such as Microsoft and Oracle, jointly building a globally leading AI infrastructure. Greg Brockman, co-founder of OpenAI, also said that since the establishment of OpenAI, they have had close cooperation with NVIDIA, and this project will further enhance the popular value of AI technology.

Notably, Sam Altman revealed that OpenAI will launch some new products in the coming weeks. Although due to cost reasons, some functions will be prioritized for Pro subscription users. With the continuous advancement of AI technology and the upgrading of infrastructure, we have every reason to expect a more intelligent life in the future.
