Cohere and Accenture Collaborate to Propel Enterprise AI Applications


Cohere released the Rerank 4 search model, with the context window expanded to 32K, four times the previous generation. The model can handle longer documents and evaluate multiple paragraphs, capturing associations that short windows cannot identify, significantly improving the ranking accuracy of real documents, helping AI agents complete tasks more efficiently.
Accenture has reached a partnership with OpenAI to provide ChatGPT Enterprise licenses to 40,000 employees, aiming to leverage AI technology to enhance corporate operations and decision-making efficiency. The two parties will combine OpenAI's advanced technology with Accenture's industry experience to promote the practical application of AI in enterprise digital transformation.
Accenture recently laid off over 11,000 employees, reducing the total number of employees from 791,000 to 779,000. The company warned that further layoffs may occur in the future if employees cannot adapt to AI demands. This round of layoffs is part of an $865 million restructuring plan, which is expected to continue until November. CEO Julie Sweet emphasized the necessity of the transformation.
Cohere completed a $1 billion funding round, increasing its valuation to $70 billion, which is an extension of its $5 billion financing in August. It also announced a partnership with AMD, which is one of its investors. This move comes as its competitor OpenAI received a $100 billion investment commitment from NVIDIA, highlighting the intensifying competition in the AI field.
