Microsoft has officially released the desktop stable version Microsoft Edge 155 update (version number 155.0.4283.45), bringing multiple practical feature upgrades and improvements to the web platform.
Core Features and Image Support
- AI Smart Organization Upgrade: The new version further enhances the AI tab and workspace smart organization features. It not only provides grouping suggestions but also intelligently recommends group names, visual styles, and corresponding tags. Users can adjust these settings on the settings page.
- JPEG XL Image Decoding: The browser now supports direct decoding of JPEG XL format images. This format offers progressive decoding, wide color gamut, high dynamic range (HDR), high bit depth, and animation support, making it easier for users to view high-definition images directly on web pages.
Feature Adjustments and Platform Improvements
In other aspects, Microsoft will gradually discontinue the real-time video translation feature, and the related strategy will be officially deprecated in future updates. Meanwhile, Edge 155 includes the latest security updates from the Chromium project and has expanded the default coverage of disabling the web page unload event handler to 100%. Developers are advised to migrate to more suitable page lifecycle management mechanisms as soon as possible.
