According to "Dujia", Tencent is secretly developing a Personal Agent (Personal AI Agent) product, internally codenamed "Handy Bot", and plans to launch an independent app. The product has already been quietly launched on WeChat, with the service account description reading "Your Personal AI Agent".

Handy Bot's positioning is entirely different from traditional chatbots. Traditional chatbots work on a question-and-answer basis, and tasks end once the conversation ends. In contrast, a Personal Agent aims for a "background presence" — users only need to provide a general goal, and the AI can continuously advance the task in the cloud, no longer relying on humans issuing instructions one by one.

Meta's recent release of Muse is a landmark product in this direction. Its core design is to assign each user a dedicated secure virtual machine to handle daily tasks such as price comparisons, email processing, and schedule monitoring.

Tencent is not the only player in this space. Alibaba is evolving Qwen towards "My Qwen", emphasizing the construction of personal context memory; Douyin's Duanbao has also been reported to be developing a personal assistant product codenamed "Spell". The industry consensus is that for Personal Agent to truly take off, it needs to balance the model's task planning capabilities, the openness of the ecosystem tools, and the compliance and privacy boundaries. Currently, Handy Bot is still in internal testing, and the product details have not been finalized yet.
