Meta announced the launch of a desktop application for its AI chatbot, further enhancing the application capabilities of Meta AI in productivity scenarios. The new app supports users to share computer windows, allowing the AI to provide suggestions, answer questions, or generate content based on screen content, and also supports cross-application voice input functionality.

This release marks Meta's effort to transform its AI chatbot from a simple Q&A tool into an intelligent productivity assistant, in response to competition from products such as Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Anthropic Claude. Currently, the Gemini desktop app already supports window sharing, while ChatGPT and Claude offer further computer operation capabilities.

In the Mac version of Meta AI, users can directly input content through voice and use AI to complete dictation tasks in other applications. By combining screen understanding and multimodal interaction capabilities, Meta aims to improve the efficiency of AI assistants in daily office and creative workflows.

Along with the release of the Mac app, Meta also launched a series of AI feature upgrades for enterprises and creators. The company stated that Meta AI can now connect web, mobile, and Mac services, and collaborate with Instagram, Facebook accounts, Meta ad campaigns, and Google Workspace.

For example, enterprise users can use Meta AI to analyze social content performance, including post reach, likes, shares, and saves, and receive recommendations for subsequent content posting based on the analysis results. Meanwhile, the AI can also access enterprise accounts and network information to help generate presentations, documents, and spreadsheets, and perform regular business tasks such as automatically generating weekly performance reports.

As AI assistants gradually enter desktop operating systems and enterprise workflows, Meta is enhancing the competitiveness of its AI products in office and creative fields through multimodal interaction, data connectivity, and automation capabilities.
