On August 19th, China Doctor's Day, Ant Afu unveiled its comprehensive service strategy for doctors. From village doctors to renowned physicians, and from grassroots medical institutions to tertiary hospitals, Ant Afu has tailored AI assistants for different groups of doctors to support their diagnosis, patient management, and medical research work.
Recently, the application "Ant Afu Doctor Edition" completed a major upgrade, equipping millions of doctors across the country with AI assistants. Today, Afu also revealed its latest progress in supporting grassroots medical institutions and doctor groups. According to the information, Afu has collaborated with local health commissions to launch the "Digital Family Doctor" service in over 40 cities such as Shijiazhuang and Weifang, working with tens of thousands of grassroots doctors to serve more than 5 million residents; at the same time, AI training programs for rural doctors have been launched in Puan County, Guizhou Province, and Meixian District, Guangdong Province, helping hundreds of grassroots village doctors learn to use Afu to assist with daily work, achieving "professional skills on hand."
Afu's Progress in Going Down to the Grassroots: "Digital Family Doctor" Service Reaches Over 5 Million Residents
In the grassroots healthcare system, family doctors are the "gatekeepers" of residents' health. However, one family doctor often serves 2,000 to 3,000 residents, dealing with heavy tasks such as chronic disease follow-ups, health records, and daily consultations, making it difficult to ensure the depth and timeliness of service.
To address this pain point, Ant Afu has partnered with local health commissions through the Afu App to introduce the "Digital Family Doctor" service, innovatively adopting a "AI intelligent agent + real doctor" model. The AI handles routine tasks such as health education, signing guidance, intelligent follow-ups, and medication instructions and reminders. Residents can receive round-the-clock health Q&A and report interpretation services, realizing "treat minor illnesses without leaving the community, and ask about health anytime."
This model not only effectively improves the fulfillment rate of family doctors but also frees up grassroots doctors from complex tasks, allowing them to focus more on post-signing medical services and precise health management for key populations and chronic diseases, truly achieving "signing with commitments." Currently, over 40 cities nationwide have launched the "Digital Family Doctor" service on Afu, with tens of thousands of grassroots doctors serving over 5 million residents through Afu.

Ant Afu stated that in the future, it will develop a medical package for grassroots doctors, further improving the convenience and efficiency of family doctor follow-ups through smart hardware devices integrated with the Afu platform. This will also help residents better understand their own health conditions.
From Guizhou to Guangdong, AI Empowers Rural Doctors with Professional Skills
In the group of grassroots doctors served by Afu, there is a special group: rural doctors. Among the three-tier grassroots medical forces, the village doctor group is the frontline of medical care, often taking on the responsibilities of a general practitioner. "A village doctor is like a hospital."
To help grassroots village doctors "enhance their professional skills," since February 2026, Ant Afu has conducted "Village Doctor AI Training Programs" in rural areas such as Puan County, Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, and Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, teaching hundreds of village doctors how to use Afu to assist with daily medical work. Through providing AI real-time Q&A and interpretation of complex reports, this helps many grassroots village doctors gain professional "AI assistants" with more confidence, better protecting villagers' health.
Afu Doctor Edition Launches Two AI Assistants, Helping Doctors Across the Country Reduce Workload and Improve Efficiency
While focusing on grassroots efforts, Ant Afu is also continuously assisting a broader group of doctors. On the eve of Doctor's Day, the platform launched the AI application "Ant Afu Doctor Edition" for doctors, featuring two AI assistance modules, becoming a comprehensive AI workstation covering the entire range of scenarios including diagnosis, patient management, and research.
The "AI Avatar Assistant" can be available online 24/7, handling basic tasks such as health consultations, pre-consultation, and post-visit follow-ups. The "AI Medical Assistant" aggregates over 60 million authoritative medical resources, including clinical guidelines, top journal studies, and more, supporting multi-format searches (text and voice) to provide free, accurate professional support for clinical decision-making and research.
The Afu Doctor Edition also opens up internet hospital business access to medical institutions nationwide for the first time. Hospitals can join as institutions, and doctors can complete online consultations, follow-up management, and patient record maintenance through a single platform.

At the same time, in terms of cutting-edge technology, Ant Afu has established a medical AI laboratory, continuously exploring the application of AI in four major chronic diseases: cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, malignant tumors, pulmonary chronic diseases, and stroke. By building a cutting-edge computational medicine technology system covering early screening warnings, precise subtyping, treatment decisions, and prognosis assessment, it aims to promote the transformation of clinical diagnosis and treatment from "passive discovery, experience-based treatment" to "active warning, precise medical decision-making, and full-life cycle intelligent management," thus improving the accuracy of diagnostic treatment plans, reducing the disease burden, and improving patients' quality of life.
