WeChat has added three new high-frequency scenario entries in the recent gray-scale test of its native AI assistant "Xiaowei," bringing the total number of AI entry points within WeChat to 16. On the official account message page, the leftmost section of "Frequently Followed Accounts" now includes "AI Summary," which can compile recent updates from frequently followed accounts into a summary; at the bottom of the article detail page, there is also an option to instantly summarize the current content; long-pressing text in a friend's Moments can trigger "AI Comments," where AI summarizes and provides different styles of comments.

From images to transfers, AI embedded throughout the entire process

When viewing images in chats, a new "AI Processing" option appears at the bottom, supporting beautification, information extraction, and modification; when posting in Moments, after uploading an image, "AI Help Write" appears, generating multiple alternative copy options at once for direct input; the "Scan" feature now includes "Take a Photo for AI," which can identify brands, translate foreign packaging, and allow continuous follow-up questions; by pressing and sliding the voice input area to the "Commands" section, AI generates messages directly based on context. These features are still in gray-scale testing and are only visible to a randomly selected group of users.

Transfers have also been optimized: a new feature "Transfer to Bank Card or Phone Number" allows you to enter the information directly through the payment and receiving interface when the recipient is not nearby, requiring the recipient to have enabled the permission in advance; when meeting in person, you can use a QR code or "Scan to Receive Red Envelope." The recall function has also been updated— the prompt "You have recalled a message" can be deleted from your own page, and it is gradually being rolled out to iOS and Android.

Regarding the question "Why isn't there a second edit for Moments," WeChat officially responded that repeated revisions would turn sharing into "operations," and this feature will never be released; if you notice typos or wrong pictures right after posting, after deleting, you will see an "Edit Again" button, with the original text and pictures still intact, allowing quick re-posting after editing. Already posted content can also be re-grouped via "···".
