The fraud gang impersonated short video customer service representatives or game streamers, luring victims to download remote control software with the bait of canceling automatic charges or gifting game items, thereby obtaining sensitive information such as ID cards, phone numbers, facial photos, and SMS verification codes. This information was then passed on to Wu, who used AI tools to generate corresponding dynamic facial videos and reset payment passwords using the verification codes.

Wu then handed over the payment code to a money laundering gang, transferring the victim's bank card funds through scanning to complete the theft. The entire case involved clear division of labor among upstream and downstream links, forming a complete closed loop from information theft, facial forgery to fund laundering, causing ordinary users to lose their account balances without even realizing it.

Currently, financial platforms generally use multiple verification mechanisms, including facial recognition, SMS verification, and identity information checks.
