Against the backdrop of artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC) technology fully permeating the content industry, traditional film and television giants are accelerating their exploration of the deep integration of technology and IP. On June 23, Craft Film officially disclosed its latest progress on major IP projects, with the national-level mythological IP "Journey to the West" digital renewal being particularly notable.

Craft Film Group producer Hu Fen revealed this major project at the press conference. According to the introduction, the first work of this series is named "The Lost 500 Years," an animated work entirely positioned as an AIGC premium mid-length series. The series is planned to have six episodes, each approximately 15 minutes long, focusing on the "omitted" five hundred years when Sun Wukong was imprisoned under the Five-Finger Mountain. This approach not only delves deeply into the classic original text but also injects new visual imagination space into the traditional story through AIGC technology.

At present, the project has fully entered the production phase. With the assistance of AIGC technology, the production team can achieve scene construction and visual presentation through more efficient processes, not only reducing the threshold for animation production, but also providing more possibilities for artistic expression.

In addition to the "Journey to the West" project, Craft Film has recently also launched a series of major IP development projects, including "Zizhi Tongjian." As a leading domestic film and television production force, Craft Film has taken AIGC as the core driving force for premium mid-length series, marking its attempt to reduce costs and improve efficiency through technology, and establish a high-quality, industrialized production model in the micro-short drama sector.

As projects such as "The Lost 500 Years" advance, Craft Film's layout in the AIGC field has gradually shifted from early technical reserves to specific film and television implementation. By combining top-tier IPs with cutting-edge generative AI technology, Craft Film is trying to seize the opportunity to create the next generation of high-quality content in the global transformation of film and television content production models.
