Tablet Manufacturers Should Focus on Developing Generative AI to Maintain Competitiveness


On Monday, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, warned that advanced artificial intelligence could pose an existential risk to humanity. She called for 'ironclad safeguards' to ensure AI safety and pledged to urge relevant companies to reduce risks. The remarks were made as she prepared to begin her second term in Geneva, stating that she shares the concerns of the industry regarding the threats posed by AI.
The Supreme People's Court issued the first judicial document on AI-related cases titled "Opinions on Legally Adjudicating AI-related Dispute Cases", consisting of 5 parts and 24 articles. It focuses on hot topics such as AI face-swapping, big data price discrimination, counterfeit celebrity live-stream selling, autonomous driving, and intellectual property. It clearly defines three basic principles and liability regulations, clarifies legal boundaries and responsibilities, and safeguards the healthy and orderly development of the AI industry.
Ultraman, CEO of OpenAI, made his first clear statement that the company will firmly develop humanoid robots in-house, while simultaneously working on various forms of robots and special robots for data centers. He believes that the human physical space is adapted to the human body structure, making humanoid robots an important direction, indicating that OpenAI is accelerating its entry into the physical world.
The EU has designated ChatGPT, Reddit, and Roblox as 'very large online platforms' due to their monthly active users exceeding 45 million in the EU, requiring them to fully comply with the Digital Services Act. This move marks the expansion of EU digital regulation into the generative AI field, with platforms facing stricter scrutiny.
The increase in AI cheating in Danish high schools has led the government to introduce an emergency plan: instead of banning AI, it aims to regulate its use. About 9,000 students per year will add an oral defense in addition to written assignments, and their computer screens will be monitored during written exams to curb AI-written assignments and exam cheating, addressing the challenges posed by generative AI to traditional education.
