On May 15, Baidu officially established the Baidu Model Committee (BMC), aiming to comprehensively coordinate the company's large model research and development and application. As a significant organizational restructuring in Baidu's artificial intelligence strategy, BMC will be responsible for the entire closed-loop process from path exploration, technical planning, model training to business application, marking that Baidu's large model R&D has officially entered an efficient phase of "integrated technology and application."

In terms of organizational structure, the previous Basic Model Research Unit (BMU) and Application Model Research Unit (AMU) have both been reorganized to report to BMC. It is reported that this committee consists of young researchers with deep insights into large model technology. Combined with the previous news of several top model experts joining Baidu, the outside world speculates that the core members of BMC will include newly hired young academic elites and engineering leaders.

Against the backdrop of global AI competition shifting from simple parameter battles to efficiency and application competitions, this integration by Baidu not only optimizes internal resources but also deeply practices the logic of "technology-driven business." Through the centralized coordination of BMC, Baidu is expected to shorten the cycle from bottom-up model innovation to front-end product deployment, strengthening general basic capabilities while accurately aligning with complex and changing application scenarios.
