ByteDance has officially released its latest generation 3D generation large model - Seed3D2.0. This release marks a major technological advancement, with Seed3D2.0 reaching SOTA (state-of-the-art) levels in geometric and texture material generation. According to ByteDance, the technical report of Seed3D2.0 is now publicly available, and the related API has also been launched, making it convenient for developers to apply it.

In comparison with mainstream 3D generation models in the current market, Seed3D2.0 demonstrates outstanding performance. Especially in the two key indicators of geometric generation and texture material generation, the model's performance surpasses other competitors. By more precisely restoring complex structures and generating more realistic PBR materials, Seed3D2.0 has set a new benchmark in the industry.

To verify the effect of Seed3D2.0, ByteDance recruited 60 reviewers with 3D modeling experience to conduct a blind evaluation of the generation quality of Seed3D2.0 and six other mainstream models. The results showed that Seed3D2.0 significantly led in the evaluation of geometric structure generation, with a preference rate higher than other models, verifying the improvement in geometric quality brought by its architectural innovation. In the comparison of texture generation, Seed3D2.0 also had a preference rate of over 69%, demonstrating its strong market competitiveness.

Seed3D2.0 adopts a coarse-to-fine two-stage generation strategy, successfully decoupling the overall structure from geometric details, achieving breakthroughs in generating difficult elements such as sharp edges, thin-walled structures, and complex topologies. At the same time, the model also integrates a unified PBR generation mechanism, further enhancing the detail and boundary accuracy of materials. By introducing VLM prior technology, Seed3D2.0 shows more stable and accurate material decomposition under unknown lighting conditions.

In addition to geometric and texture generation, Seed3D2.0 also has component-level segmentation and completion, hinged asset generation, and scene composition generation capabilities based on images, videos, or text, further expanding its application scenarios in practical use.
