Anthropic has announced a major feature update: users can now open and interact with multiple mainstream office applications directly within the Claude interface. This change marks Claude's evolution from a single conversation tool into an integrated workspace. Users can build project schedules, draft Slack messages, create presentations, or perform data visualization without switching tabs.

The initial set of integrated applications includes well-known platforms such as Amplitude, Asana, Box, Canva, Figma, and Slack, with Salesforce integration already in the planning stage. This feature is based on Anthropic's open-source MCP Apps (Model Context Protocol Applications) technology from last year, which allows AI assistants to achieve deep interactive UI connections with external tools.

In practical use, this integration provides extremely fine control:

  • Data Decision: Through the Hex integration, users can ask questions in natural language and get real-time data analysis with interactive charts.

  • Collaboration and Design: Users can ask Claude to directly generate flowcharts in FigJam or sync chat content as Asana project tasks with one click.

  • Communication Preview: Before sending a Slack message, users can preview and edit the formatting in Claude to ensure accurate communication.

To ensure enterprise-level security, Anthropic introduced the **"approval prompt" mechanism**, where any actual action initiated by the AI (such as sending a message or deleting a file) must be confirmed by the user. Additionally, enterprise administrators have full control over the usage permissions of MCP servers within their organization.

Currently, this integrated feature is available for paid plan users including Claude Pro, Team, and Enterprise, with no additional integration fees required.
