According to reports, vivo has recently halted an AI glasses project that had been secretly planned for about six months. It is reported that the project had previously collaborated with multiple ODM manufacturers, including Gooear and China Mobile Software, to develop prototype devices (demo), but the collaboration has now been affected.

The core reason for the suspension of this project, according to reports, is that several senior executives at vivo, including Hu Boshan, executive vice president, assessed that current AI glasses products are "hard to differentiate" in terms of technology and user experience. Regarding this market rumor, vivo has not yet issued an official response.
In fact, vivo has previously made arrangements in the wearable device field. In August 2025, the company released its first MR glasses, the "vivo Vision Exploration Edition," but adopted a relatively cautious market strategy, only opening reservations in selected offline experience stores without starting large-scale public sales. The cancellation of the AI glasses project may reflect the cautious attitude of major smartphone manufacturers when facing emerging smart hardware trends, balancing commercialization and product uniqueness.
