Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center recently announced the successful open-source release of the embodied vision-language-action (VLA) large model XR-1, becoming the first model in China to meet the national standards for embodied intelligence. The launch of this model marks another important breakthrough in China's intelligent robotics field, promoting further development of robot technology.

XR-1 is not only a unique large model, but it also comes with a powerful data foundation RoboMIND2.0, as well as the latest version of the high-fidelity digital asset dataset ArtVIP. The release of these supporting resources aims to provide developers and researchers with rich data support, helping to advance the intelligence of robots.
XR-1 is hailed as the "cerebellum" of embodied intelligence, capable of cross-platform operation and achieving seamless migration of operational knowledge on various robot platforms such as Tiantang 2.0, UR, and Franka. With over one million data points, XR-1 performs excellently in seven generalization dimensions such as object color, position, and background interference, and can accurately execute complex dual-arm skills like picking and placing, pushing and pulling, and rotating.
Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center has also built a complete "brain + cerebellum + body" ecosystem. Among them, the physical body relies on the "Embodied Tiantang" platform, which has released multiple types of robots; the embodied brain through the "Huisi Kaimu" platform previously open-sourced the WoW (I Understand) world model and Pelican-VL (Tianhu) large model, responsible for high-level logical reasoning and task decomposition; while the open-sourced XR-1 this time is responsible for converting the brain's instructions into accurate physical actions, ensuring efficient collaboration between software and hardware.
This open source is not only a technical achievement of Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, but also provides a new research platform for researchers and developers at home and abroad. With the release of XR-1, we look forward to more innovative applications emerging in the field of intelligent robotics in the future.
