At today's ByteDance's Volcanic Engine FORCE Original Power Conference, the intelligent technology brand under ByteDance made a significant upgrade to its AI core capabilities: officially launching the Doubao Large Model 1.8 and the video generation model Seedance 1.5 Pro, while also introducing the "AI Cost-Saving Plan" aimed at further lowering the cost barrier for enterprises to use large models.

In terms of performance, the Doubao Large Model 1.8 has achieved significant improvements in key dimensions such as reasoning, multilingual support, code generation, and tool calling; while Seedance 1.5 Pro focuses on video generation quality and consistency, supporting longer duration and higher frame rate controllable content creation, providing industrial-level visual generation capabilities for short videos, advertising, gaming, and other fields.

More notably, it has demonstrated impressive large-scale implementation results: as of December 2024, the daily token usage of the Doubao Large Model has exceeded 50 trillion tokens, ranking first in China and third globally. Currently, more than 100 enterprises have consumed over one trillion tokens on the Volcanic Engine platform, covering multiple industries including e-commerce, finance, entertainment, and manufacturing, marking that Doubao has moved from a technical product to large-scale industrial application.

The launch of the "AI Cost-Saving Plan" directly addresses the core pain points of enterprise AI deployment—cost. Volcanic Engine will help customers achieve higher throughput and lower per-token costs with the same computing power through technical means such as model compression, inference optimization, and resource scheduling, accelerating the deep integration of AI into business scenarios.

With the successive launch of terminal products such as the Doubao phone and AI glasses, ByteDance is building a complete AI ecosystem loop by driving four aspects: "large model + cloud + terminal + scenario." The daily usage of 50 trillion tokens not only represents a technical indicator but also reflects a collective vote from the market on the capabilities and cost-effectiveness of Doubao. At this critical stage when China's AI is moving from "usable" to "user-friendly and commonly used," Volcanic Engine has already reached the peak of the wave.
