The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), under the guidance of the Cybersecurity Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, has officially launched the Artificial Intelligence Product Security Vulnerability Specialized Database (CAIVD). This new specialized database is now online at ai.nvdb.org.cn, aiming to strengthen the security management of artificial intelligence products and enhance the security of network products.

The establishment of CAIVD aims to implement the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Security Vulnerabilities in Network Products" and strengthen the management of security vulnerabilities in network products. Since 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched the Cybersecurity Threat and Vulnerability Information Sharing Platform (NVDB), which covers various network products, including general network products, industrial control products, government information innovation products, mobile internet applications, and connected vehicle products, forming a "1 main database + 5 specialized databases" vulnerability management system.

To effectively address new threats and challenges in the field of artificial intelligence, the launch of CAIVD will further strengthen the prevention of security risks for artificial intelligence products. It will serve as a bridge connecting artificial intelligence product providers, security vendors, research institutions, and individual users, establishing a system for collecting, analyzing, assessing, reporting, warning, and handling security vulnerabilities. This system will standardize the channels for collecting and releasing vulnerabilities, helping to promote the high-quality and healthy development of China's artificial intelligence industry.

In the future, the CAICT will rely on CAIVD to collect and verify security vulnerabilities in artificial intelligence products, urge product providers to promptly fix their own product security vulnerabilities, support the standardized management of artificial intelligence products, and work together to build a secure and orderly industrial ecosystem.
