Xiaomi has released the Super Xiao Ai update with version number v7.8.50 today, introducing the "Easy Photo Editing" feature: users can call the album AI model to automatically edit photos by simply giving natural language instructions. The system supports global multimodal interaction, capable of identifying screen and camera footage and performing complex operation chains.

There are two ways to use it: wake up Super Xiao Ai on the full-screen photo page and speak the instruction directly, or open the Super Xiao Ai App, click the plus sign in the lower right corner, upload a photo, and enter a text description. The system will then automatically complete processing such as color enhancement, background blur, and style filters. The feature is currently limited to devices equipped with Xiaomi HyperAI, and requires the album editor ≥v2.1 and the album ≥v4.3.0.30; non-compatible devices can still use it through the Super Xiao Ai App entry.

Xiaomi's camera department product manager stated that the Easy Photo Editing feature uses the 7B multimodal large model built into Super Xiao Ai, which can perform inference locally, default output with a watermark, and retain a backup of the original photo. In testing, a sentence like "turn this photo into an autumn masterpiece" can generate high saturation, dark corners, and enhanced lighting effects within 5 seconds; the instruction "beautify the portrait and blur the background" automatically identifies the subject's edges, achieving hair-level selection.

Super Xiao Ai was opened for official version upgrades since December 2024 and has integrated capabilities such as natural language photo search, screen translation, and selected translation. With the launch of Easy Photo Editing, Xiaomi did not mention if there would be additional fees. Industry experts expect more stylized templates and cloud-based advanced filters to be added later.
