Artificial intelligence voice technology company ElevenLabs has officially launched its "Signature Voice Marketplace," an innovative online platform designed to allow businesses to directly license the voices of famous people generated by artificial intelligence. The marketplace features the voices of living celebrities such as Michael Caine and Liza Minnelli, as well as historical icons such as John Wayne, Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Mark Twain, Thomas Edison, and Alan Turing. The voices of these historical figures are recreated based on archival recordings.

ElevenLabs positions the marketplace as a **"consent-based, performer-centered approach,"** connecting companies needing voice licenses directly with intellectual property owners. Businesses can use these highly realistic voices to create advertisements, other commercial content, or even for reading functions in reader applications.
Transparent Licensing and Fair Compensation Mechanism
The platform acts as an intermediary, handling complex licensing agreements to ensure fair compensation and transparency. Only verified talents and intellectual property owners are eligible to join, ensuring that the platform only showcases the voices of famous individuals.
The licensing process is strict, requiring copyright holders to approve any commercial use in advance. Companies need to browse the curated directory, submit usage requests, and directly contact the copyright holders to determine specific terms. Once approved, ElevenLabs' technology will support the project and deliver the results. The marketplace has already launched 28 voices for licensing.

Industry Attention and Technological Iteration
In the context where open-source cloning tools have made copyright control more difficult, this marketplace provides intellectual property owners with a way to profit from their own voice image, re-establishing control. The entertainment industry's interest in this technology is growing, as evidenced by the fact that renowned actor **Matthew McConaughey** has invested in the company for some time.
This marketplace launch follows the release of Eleven v3 by ElevenLabs in June. Eleven v3 introduced improved voice synthesis technology capable of generating audio tags like whispers and laughter, and supports over 70 languages, offering more natural multi-speaker conversations. ElevenLabs continues to expand its business, for example, Anthropic's Claude assistant uses ElevenLabs' technology to enable voice output functionality.
