AI Prodigy Luo Fuli Announces Joining Xiaomi, Will Focus on Building Intelligence in the Physical World

On November 12, known as the "AI prodigy," Luo Fuli officially announced her joining Xiaomi through her personal social media circle.

In her social media update, Luo Fuli expressed her expectations and vision for her future work. She wrote: "Intelligence will eventually move from language to the physical world. I am currently at Xiaomi MiMo, working with a group of creative, talented, and sincerely passionate researchers to build such a future, striving to achieve our vision of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence)."

Previously, rumors about Luo Fuli joining Xiaomi had attracted widespread public attention. Some reports suggested that Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, showed great interest in Luo Fuli, hoping to offer her a salary of up to 10 million yuan to attract her, inviting her to lead a team at Xiaomi to conduct research on AI large models.

This official joining of Luo Fuli marks Xiaomi's step towards "intelligent in the physical world," and the company's investment and research capabilities in the AGI field will be significantly enhanced.

The Xiaomi large model team announced the open source of the latest multimodal large model Xiaomi MiMo-VL-7B-2508, which includes two versions: RL and SFT. Official data shows that the new model has set new records in four core capabilities: subject reasoning, document understanding, graphical interface positioning, and video understanding. Among them, the MMMU benchmark has broken through the 70-point mark for the first time, ChartQA has risen to 94.4, ScreenSpot-v2 has reached 92.5, and VideoMME has improved to 70.8.
