Recently, AMD announced that it has successfully acquired the AI inference startup MK1 on November 11, 2025. This acquisition aims to further advance AMD's strategic development in the AI inference field and help the company consolidate its market position. MK1 focuses on high-speed inference and AI technologies based on inference. Its core product "Flywheel" technology has been deeply optimized with AMD's Instinct GPU architecture, capable of processing over 1 trillion tokens per day, demonstrating powerful inference capabilities.

Through this acquisition, AMD plans to integrate the MK1 team into its AI division, thereby enhancing the overall capability of its enterprise-level AI software, improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of inference. The Fly technology of MK1 can fully utilize the high-bandwidth memory features of AMD Instinct GPUs, achieving low latency and high throughput inference capabilities. Combined with AMD's hardware platforms such as Instinct MI300X, this technology will provide more accurate and traceable inference services in fields such as finance, healthcare, and customer service automation, while effectively reducing energy consumption and costs.

This acquisition is another move by AMD to continuously strengthen its presence in the AI field, and its "software and hardware synergy" strategy is also deepening. AMD's previous releases such as ROCm6, the Instinct series hardware, and open AI SDKs have formed a good complementary relationship with this acquisition.
